If you are visiting Island Mljet and are bringing your car, the only ferry option you have is the car ferry from Prapratno to Sobra, the 45-minute ferry trip operates year-round, in June, July, August and September there are up to 5 daily ferry departures, the rest of the year up to 4 daily. On the car ferry, there is mainly inside seating, but if you are fast you might manage to catch one of the few seating options outside.

FAQ – Prapratno – Sobra ferry
First of all, you can not book a ticket for a specific departure, what you have booked/bought is a day ticket, valid for any of the day’s departures. What time you have to be at the ferry port to catch a specific departure depends on whether it is a busy travel day or not, if not busy, 30-40 minutes before should be fine, if it is a busy or really busy travel day e.g. a Saturday in the main season, you might need to be at the port 2 hours or more before.
The ferry operator Jadrolinija has a set of rules for bringing pets which you need to follow!
Unfortunately, there is only one daily bus from Sobra to the National park Mljet, so you will have to take a taxi or get a ride with some of the other ferry guests.

It often happens that people travelling by, car or bus get a bit confused about how to calculate the price, so here are a few examples
Car with passengers
If you are e.g. 3 adults and a regular car going on the ferry, the price calculations for one-way tickets are the following, car (Less than 5 meters in length, and two meters in height) = 23,20 € + 3 adults (3 * 5,58 €) = 16,74 €, so in total, your price will be 39,94 €. As there is no discount for return tickets the round trip price will be 79,88 € or roughly 26,62 € per person.
Bus with passengers
For a bus the way of calculating is different, if you have a bus with space for 30 people and 22 passengers, the price is 121,57 €, which includes the bus and the passengers!
