The small island Molat<\/strong> is located in the Zadar archipelago, 15 NM or 28 km air distance from Zadar, Island which has a population of fewer than 200 people<\/strong>, is a great place for those looking for a holiday in quiet surroundings.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Island with a total size of around 23 km2<\/strong> is 9 km long and up to 3 km wide. There are 3 settlements on the island: Molat, Brgulje and Zapuntel<\/strong>, Molat is located in the southern part,\u00a0 Brgulje in the centre and Zapuntel in the northern part of the Island. All 3 settlements have ports. From the northern part of the island there is only about 100 metres to the Island Ist<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Getting to Island Molat<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Island Molat is connected to Zadar on the mainland<\/strong> year-round with a catamaran \/ fast ferry and a car ferry route, both operate daily except for on a few public holidays.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The daily catamaran (passenger-only ferry)<\/strong> sails the following route: Zadar – Molat\u00a0<\/a> – Brgulje<\/a> – Zapuntel<\/a> – Ist, the sailing time from Zadar to Molat is 50 minutes<\/strong>, to Brgulje 1 hour 5 minutes and to Zapuntel 1 hour and 35 minutes. The daily car ferry<\/strong> sails from Zadar then continues to all or some of the following islands, Island Rivanj, Island Sestrunj and Island Zverinac<\/strong> before ending in Molat, the sailing time of the car ferry is between 2 hour and 30 minutes and 3 hours.
