{"id":76,"date":"2016-06-08T13:38:21","date_gmt":"2016-06-08T13:38:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/?page_id=76"},"modified":"2024-06-28T10:04:41","modified_gmt":"2024-06-28T08:04:41","slug":"split-ferry-port","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/split-ferry-port\/","title":{"rendered":"Split ferry port"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Split is the second-largest city in Croatia<\/strong> and the biggest city on the Adriatic coast considered the capital of the region Dalmatia. <strong>The ferry terminal in Split is the main passenger port<\/strong> in the whole of Croatia so it\u2019s well connected to many Croatian islands and even Italy. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Besides ferries, there are many catamaran lines<\/strong> that depart from Split towards the islands.&nbsp;The ferry terminal in Split is located only minutes away from the exciting historic <strong>city centre where you can enjoy<\/strong> visiting the sights <strong>in the old Diocletian&#8217;s palace.<\/strong> It is also close to some of the famous beaches.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main bus and train <strong>stations are literally across the street from the ferry terminal<\/strong> which makes it perfectly connected with other European and Croatian towns.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Getting to the Split ferry port<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re staying in Split and if you want to reach the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-brac\/\">islands of Bra\u010d<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-solta\/\">\u0160olta<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-hvar\/\">Hvar<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-korcula\/\">Kor\u010dula<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-vis\/\">Vis<\/a> and so on, here is how<\/strong> you get to the ferry terminal from some popular parts of the town.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re<strong> staying in the old part<\/strong> of the town, the only way to reach the ferry terminal is to walk there (around 10-15 minutes) <strong>since the cars are not allowed in the Diocletian\u2019s palace.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re staying in Veli Varo\u0161, it\u2019s pretty <strong>much the same thing.<\/strong> There is a main promenade by the sea called<strong> Riva between Varo\u0161 and the ferry terminal<\/strong> and there are also no cars allowed there. <strong>So you\u2019ll have to walk (20-25 minutes)<\/strong> or you can take a taxi in the end of the promenade.<strong> It might cost you around 60-70 kn<\/strong> (8-9 euros) since it has to go all the way around the centre to reach the ferry terminal.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re staying on Ba\u010dvice, <strong>the ferry terminal is really close. If you\u2019re with luggage,<\/strong> the easiest way is to take a taxi that will take you to the <strong>ferry terminal<\/strong> (it won\u2019t cost you a lot since it\u2019s not a big distance). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feel free to find other <a href=\"https:\/\/getbybus.com\/en\/blog\/things-to-do-in-croatia\/\">things to do in Croatia<\/a>, while you&#8217;re at it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Split-terminal-building.webp\" alt=\"Split terminal building\" class=\"wp-image-11431\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Split-terminal-building.webp 1024w, https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Split-terminal-building-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Split-terminal-building-768x432.webp 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you\u2019re staying on Meje,<\/strong> you can also take a taxi in front of you apartment\/hotel directly to the ferry terminal, w<strong>hich might be a good idea especially if you\u2019re with luggage.<\/strong> You can also take buses number <strong>12 or 21 (depending where on Meje you are staying)<\/strong> that will take you up to the bus stop in the end of the <strong>promenade by the sea.<\/strong> From there, you can take a taxi to the ferry terminal (it has to go around a little bit, since there are no cars allowed on the promenade) or you can walk there (15 minutes).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ticket for the local buses is around 11 kn = 1.5 euros bought on the bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re staying in <strong>Omi\u0161, Podstrana or Stobre\u010d,<\/strong> the bus number 60 will take you to the green market, <strong>minutes away from the ferry terminal<\/strong>. The ticket to Omi\u0161 costs around 20 kn = 2.5 euros and a little bit less for Podstrana and Stobre\u010d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are staying in Trogir, the best way is to take a direct bus to <strong>the main bus station in Split (across the street from the ferry terminal).<\/strong> The ticket is around 20-30 kn ( 3-4 euros).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>You can also take a bus number 37<\/strong> that passes through little villages along the coast (Ka\u0161tela). <strong>The bus stops little bit outside of the centre on the bus station SUKOI\u0160AN<\/strong> (not the main bus station!), so from there it\u2019s best to jump on the bus number 60 and get out at the green market. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the buses run<strong> from early morning to late evening and there are pretty much frequent.<\/strong> Please note, that tickets are a little bit less expensive if bought on the kiosk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re arriving from Trogir, Omi\u0161, Podstrana, Stobre\u010d, etc. you can also <strong>organise a private transfer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"position: relative; overflow: hidden; padding-top: 56.25%; width: 100%;\">\n    <iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Yu2g3VCBj28?si=XTAmT8W2YXLgg9v8\" title=\"Split Ferry Port\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen=\"\" loading=\"lazy\">\n    <\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Split airport to the ferry terminal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The airport of Split is around <strong>25 km away from the Split ferry terminal.<\/strong> Once you land, <a href=\"https:\/\/getbytransfer.com\/en\/split-airport-split\">you can take a pre-booked transfer<\/a> (which will cost you around 32 euros), take a taxi (that will take you directly to the ferry terminal and it will cost you around 45 euros) and there are also shuttle buses <strong>running from the airport towards Split.<\/strong> The direct bus stops at the main bus station that is across the street from the ferry terminal. The <strong>one-way ticket is around 35 kn = 5 euros.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>NEW:<\/strong><\/span> Now it is also possible (Provided there is no COVID) to take a fast ferry from the airport to Split centre, which is an amazing way of arriving in Split, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/split-airport-to-split\/\">timetable from Airport to Split<\/a> and timetable from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/split-to-split-airport\/\">Split to the Airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is also a bus <strong>number 37 that passes through little villages along the coast (Ka\u0161tela).<\/strong> The bus stops a little bit outside of the centre on the bus station SUKOI\u0160AN (not the main bus station!), so from there it\u2019s best to jump on bus number 60 and get out at the greenmarket (minutes away from the ferry terminal). As soon <strong>as you enter from Split from either north or south,<\/strong> taking the highway or the coastal road, you will see the sign for the centre and the ferry terminal. All you have to do is follow it and it will get you directly to the ferry terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Split ferry port facilities<strong><br>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like already mentioned, it\u2019s one of the <strong>biggest Croatian ports, located almost in the town centre<\/strong> and the main promenade (Riva), so it\u2019s obvious that you can find all kinds of facilities there or nearby.
