The national ferry company, Jadrolinija<\/a>, is starting construction on new ships in a new investment cycle. In the first phase, there are three new electric boats, while the second step involves designing a new double-ended ferry intended to connect the southern part of Dugi Otok with the passenger port in Ga\u017eenica. People from Zadar are already wondering how the city will be connected to the Italian city of Ancona by boat this season.<\/p>\n

It has long been known that Jadrolinija is acquiring three new electric boats, but many were surprised by the fact that they are also proceeding with the design of a ferry for another line between Zadar and Dugi Otok, specifically between Ga\u017eenica and Zaglav. It will be a double-ended ferry with diesel-electric hybrid propulsion, with a capacity of 80 vehicles and 500 passengers, and a speed of 13 knots.<\/p>\n

In addition, Jadrolinija has been working for almost a year on the purchase of a boat that, along with the Marco Polo, is expected to connect the Croatian and Italian coasts. Last season, the Marco Polo sailed from Zadar and Split to Ancona, as well as from Dubrovnik to Bari.<\/p>\n

Ticket sales for the Zadar – Ancona line have already begun, and the ship will sail between the two cities twice a week from June 28th to September 6th.<\/p>\n
