289.500 passengers passed through Zadar ferry port<\/a>, a 54.9% decrease from last year, while Preko ferry terminal managed 269.800 passengers, an annual decrease of 44.2%.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the second trimester of 2020<\/strong>, Croatian ferry ports record a significant traffic decline of both ferries and passengers<\/strong>. More precisely, a decrease of 54% in ferry traffic and 68% in passenger traffic compared to last year. Cargo traffic saw an increase of 7%, as per Croatian Bureau of Statistics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They concluded that COVID-19 pandemic directly affected the decline<\/strong> in both domestic and international traffic in the country\u2019s ferry ports. Namely, in the second trimester, there were 45.071 ferries \/ catamarans arriving at Croatian ports, a decrease of 54.3%. With a total of 2.99 million passengers, ports saw an decrease of 68% as compared to the same period of last year. Those are the lowest passenger numbers<\/strong> of the second trimester, in the past 10 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

All ferry ports recorded significant annual traffic decline.<\/strong> For instance, in the Split ferry port<\/a>, which managed the most passenger traffic, there were only 343.800 passengers recorded, a decrease of 75.4 %.
\n<\/span>Zadar ferry port serviced 289.500 passengers, 54% less than last year, while Preko terminal<\/a> serviced 269.000 passengers, a decline of 44.2%. <\/span>Huge decline of 90.2% was recorded by Dubrovnik ferry port<\/a>. From April to June of 2020, 94.900 passengers passed through the port. In the same period last year, that number was almost 972.000.<\/span><\/p>\n

From January to June 2020<\/strong>, there were a total of 94.640 ferry \/ catamaran arrivals, a decrease of 36.7%. In the same period, a total of 5.56 million passengers were recorded, a decline of 54.7%. As for the cargo traffic in the same period, a decrease of 1.6% was recorded, giving a total of 9.94 million tons of freight.<\/p>\n
