{"id":5409,"date":"2020-12-02T09:00:52","date_gmt":"2020-12-02T09:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/?p=5409"},"modified":"2020-11-30T08:04:04","modified_gmt":"2020-11-30T08:04:04","slug":"ferry-port-ubli-on-lastovo-to-be-reconstructed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/ferry-port-ubli-on-lastovo-to-be-reconstructed\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferry port Ubli on Lastovo to be reconstructed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>The Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has announced that a new project will take place <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-lastovo\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on Lastovo Island<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a reconstruction of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/ubli-ferry-terminal\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ubli ferry port<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, worth over 8 million euros. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of the financing will come from European Cohesion Fund, about 7 million euros (85 percent), while the remaining million euros will come from the state budget.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reconstruction of the port will bring<\/span><b> better organization and a larger capacity for boarding ferries and boats<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Additional ferry ramp with a 110-meter long embroidery is also planned. Currently, only one ferry can be boarded at Ubli port, which is a huge problem in case something happens with the ferry on the spot. This way, the port would be able to accommodate multiple ferries, even larger ones. Along with the port, fixing up the shore around it is also planned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Along with this, there will be <\/span><b>several other projects concerning the Croatian ferry ports<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A new port <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-korcula\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pola\u010di\u0161te on Korcula<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a new ferry terminal in Vela Luka are also planned in the near future. Ferry port Perna in Orebi\u0107 is undergoing administrative procedures. The expansion of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/trpanj-ferry-port\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trpanj port on Pelje\u0161ac<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be done by summer 2021, while a new port will be built in Gornje \u010celo on Kolo\u010dep island.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In related news, due to the complaints, <\/span><b>a competition for three state ferry lines has been stopped.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> These lines are: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/lopar-valbiska\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">number 338 Lopar &#8211; Valbiska<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/sibenik-zirje\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">number 532 \u0160ibenik &#8211; \u017dirje<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/sudurad-dubrovnik\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">number 831 Su\u0111ura\u0111 \u2013 (Lopud) \u2013 Dubrovnik<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The entire process is stopped now, and the next move has to be done by the State Commision, which will rule on the complaints.
