{"id":6380,"date":"2021-03-21T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-21T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/?p=6380"},"modified":"2022-12-08T14:33:26","modified_gmt":"2022-12-08T13:33:26","slug":"pag-island-reconstruction-of-the-port-of-zigljen-in-progress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/pag-island-reconstruction-of-the-port-of-zigljen-in-progress\/","title":{"rendered":"Pag Island &#8211; Reconstruction of the port of \u017digljen in progress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Despite the fact that on <strong>one of the busiest ferry lines<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/islands-croatia\/\">the Adriatic<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/zigljen-prizna\/\">\u017digljen &#8211; Prizna<\/a> sails normally, the port on the <strong>Pag side is a large construction site<\/strong>. The port of \u017digljen is being arranged and upgraded with new ramps that will enable the docking of two large ferries and the simultaneous embarkation and disembarkation of passengers and vehicles. The project is very important for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-pag\/\">island of Pag<\/a>, but also for the entire <strong>Velebit region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The ferry line \u017digljen &#8211; Prizna was not interrupted even during the Homeland War. It was the only reliable <strong>connection between the north and the south of Croatia<\/strong>. Only occasionally do ferries remain moored due to the storm. The winds that blow here up to 180 km\/h have been &#8220;biting&#8221; the dock for decades. The old one will be extended and it will be joined by two more newly renovated shores.<\/p>\n<p>Due to rising sea levels, the coast will be half a meter higher, and the most demanding works are those underwater. However, a larger and more functional port will also bring <strong>more passengers to larger ferries<\/strong>.
