The Tourist Board of the Island of Krk<\/a>, the Tourist Board of the City of Krk and the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Punat invite you to an interactive cycling experience Family Bike Story <\/strong>for the whole family.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During two days, with guided bicycle tours, you will get to know the gastronomy and history of the island of Krk <\/strong>and set off in search of the treasure of the Frankopan princes of Krk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Majda \u0160ale<\/strong>, director of the Krk Tourist Board emphasized that this is a continuation of the activities they launched last year under the name Visit Krk Island – A Place to Call Home<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a year that has limited us in our movement, globally, we have been thinking about how to adapt to the situation, but also how to improve our offer, despite everything that is happening around us. We started with a strategy for the development of sports activities on our island and this cycling event is just an announcement of serious projects we plan to do.<\/p>Majda \u0160ale<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Ivana Kovacic<\/strong>, Director of the Tourist Board of Krk adds to this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am very glad that we have united our knowledge and experience and that we will be able to do much more for each of our places on the island of Krk. The basic determinant of our work is the further development of the destination and the tourist offer, which results in new facilities, with the aim of creating a motive for the arrival of our guests. Events like this are an example of being able to do business out of season.<\/p>Ivana Kovacic<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The first cycling story takes place in the area of the town of Krk and goes all the way to Punat, where they also believe that the unification will bring a lot of good since the island of Krk is considered a unique tourist destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On day one, you will be introduced to the historical and gastronomic richness of the island of Krk <\/strong>and day two is reserved for discovering the location of the treasures of the famous Frankopans<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Krk beaches will be cleaned by robots<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Another remarkable novelty on the island is a European project called “In-No-Plastic\u201d<\/strong>. It is an innovative approach to the prevention, disposal and reuse of marine plastic waste<\/strong>. The project was launched on October the 1st, 2020 and lasts until September the 30th, 2023. It involves 17 partners from the European Union interested in reducing the negative impact of plastics on the sea and the environment in general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of the project is to develop an efficient and automated solution to prevent wastewater and rainwater pollution by micro and macro plastics <\/strong>that ultimately ends up in the seas and oceans and the food chain returns to our tables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this project, selected beaches and bays on Krk will be cleaned of macro plastics with an automated process<\/strong>, using robots. The plastic thus collected will be processed and useful items will be made from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the project, environmental cleaning campaigns will be organized, using a special mobile application. Also, seven-week demonstrations of 3D printing of the collected waste will be held every year at various locations across the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Ponikve, they hope that this project will also meet with a good response from citizens, whose involvement will contribute to the success of the planned activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
