{"id":6970,"date":"2021-07-02T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-02T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/?p=6970"},"modified":"2021-06-30T13:11:53","modified_gmt":"2021-06-30T11:11:53","slug":"hvar-island-records-93-more-overnight-stays-than-last-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/hvar-island-records-93-more-overnight-stays-than-last-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Hvar island records 93% more overnight stays than last year"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Although the European Center for Disease Control has just put <strong>Croatia in green on the COVID map of Europe<\/strong>, our country is already popular with tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Judging by the current tourist figures on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/islands-croatia\/\">islands in Split-Dalmatia County<\/a>, the guests have already assessed us as a <strong>safe destination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/hvar-port\/\">city of Hvar<\/a> is currently at a 93% increase in overnight stays compared to June last year, and to 36% compared to 2019, before the pandemic. According to forecasts for July and August, we could be at about 65% compared to the 2019 results.<\/p><cite>Petar Razovi\u0107, director of the Hvar Tourist Board<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Americans, Germans and French <\/strong>are the most numerous guests in Hvar, while the <strong>number of Croats is growing by about 10%.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>With the advent of the delta virus, the loss of the Brits is noticeable, we are at about 10% compared to 2019, but a change in the regime could lead to a slight increase. Our primary goal is to protect the destination because God forbid the penetration of delta strains on Hvar. That is why the new conditions for the arrival of the Brits will certainly be announced, both in the whole of Croatia and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-hvar\/\">on our island<\/a>.<\/p><cite>Petar Razovi\u0107<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>These days, apartments in <strong>Komi\u017ea <\/strong>on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-vis\/\">island of Vis<\/a> are also being filled earlier than usual. But <strong>Bogoljub Mitrakovic<\/strong>, the director of the local tourist board, warns of one problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>We still have two ferry lines this month. Last weekend there was a lively collapse\u2026 On Monday morning I came to buy a ferry ticket at 11 am and there were only tickets for 6.30 pm. I don&#8217;t know why <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/jadrolinija\/\">Jadrolinija<\/a> couldn&#8217;t start driving three times a day a little earlier. It will be a simpler solution to keep people on hold at the ferry port. The people at Jadrolinija are kind, but the lines to Vis already needed to be increased.
