This has ensured <strong>better connectivity of the inhabited islands of the Cres archipelago<\/strong>. The project is worth 40 million kuna.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Works and reconstruction were completed ahead of schedule. The new port, in addition to better connectivity of the surrounding islands, should lay the foundations for further development of the local economy and tourism.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>They say that the new port will have a <strong>larger capacity for receiving passengers and more modern conditions for boaters<\/strong>. The new outer breakwater of the western part of the port of Cres stretches in a length of 185 meters, is 6 meters wide, while 280 meters of the mainland part of the port provides better and safer pedestrian access from the city centre.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Director of the Cres County Port Authority <strong>Anton Opati\u0107 <\/strong>says he expects that they will soon see the benefits of the largest and most important project of the port authority because this project has laid a <strong>solid foundation for the further development of the local economy and tourism<\/strong>. This will improve the quality of life on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-cres\/\">island of Cres<\/a> and the surrounding islands of the archipelago, which are now provided with basic infrastructure for the introduction of a number of year-round lines for easier and safer travel throughout the year.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Opati\u0107 adds that a good port and lines are a prerequisite for preserving life on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/islands-croatia\/\">islands<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This is the largest and most important project of the Cres County Port Authority since its existence with a total value of 40 million kuna, of which 30 million kuna is co-financed through the <strong>Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The new port is also <strong>adapted for people with disabilities. <\/strong>Also, delivery vehicles and emergency services will have better access to the passenger terminal.
