The reconstruction of the waterfront in Omi\u0161alj <\/strong>should start this fall. It is a project worth 3.5 million kuna which is jointly financed by the County Port Authority of Krk<\/a> and the Municipality of Omi\u0161alj.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project includes the arrangement of a pedestrian and car-pedestrian path and the land part of the port open to public traffic<\/strong>. The Municipality of Omi\u0161alj is participating in the project with HRK 2.5 million, while the County Port Authority of Krk participates with HRK 1 million. The total project area is about 1,470 m2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four bidders applied for the tender for the selection of contractors, among which the local company Kograd Krk d.o.o. <\/strong>was selected. The contract was signed in the amount of HRK 2,778,362.11 without VAT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the information available on the website of the Municipality of Omi\u0161alj, the works on the reconstruction of the waterfront should start in a few months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HRK 36.5 million for the reconstruction of the port on Rab island<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The allocated funds are intended for the construction of a secondary protective breakwater 44 meters long and the reconstruction of 400 meters of shore from the new breakwater to Varo\u0161 Square<\/strong>. It is a continuation of the investment cycle in port infrastructure and one of the busiest and most important ports on the island of Rab<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project will reduce the impact of the wind jugo <\/em>and the waves it causes in the port area. The goal is to protect the historic core of the city from sea flooding and improve maritime conditions<\/strong>. The berth of ships in all weather conditions will be ensured, which improves the traffic connection of the island with other destinations. The beginning of works can be expected already this winter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investment in the development and improvement of port infrastructure began in 2012 with the development of a preliminary design and the necessary documentation co-financed by the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. The first phase of the reconstruction of the entire Port of Rab began with the arrangement of infrastructure and the improvement of fishing activities at the Pumpurela pier <\/strong>in the amount of about 20 million kuna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funds for this, technologically and organizationally demanding, reconstruction and rehabilitation of the port of Rab are provided within the Operational Program “Competitiveness and Cohesion”. <\/strong>The total value of the project is HRK 37.3 million, of which HRK 36.5 million is a grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
