An exhibition of paintings dedicated to one of the greatest Croatian poets, Vesna Parun<\/strong>, opened in the Grohote library on \u0160olta island<\/a>, on August 30<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Four years ago, a project was launched in honour of Vesna Parun, which, through the eyes of various artists, seeks to prevent the character and work of the great Croatian poet from being forgotten. The new exhibition by Nevena Petra Pili\u017eota<\/strong>, which opened at the end of August in Grohote library on \u0160olta, also speaks about Vesna Parun.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The announcement of the exhibition states that this year the focus is on man<\/strong>. Pandemic circumstances have further emphasized the importance of paying attention to the light and shadow of each individual, reflecting on how well we know ourselves and others. Drawings and paintings capture individuals in moments of their efforts; human wills are manifested in facial expression, position, or body condition.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The exhibition is included in the event of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, European Heritage Days 2021 <\/strong>and it is open until September 30.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The third Sutivan festival celebrating fish products<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The third Fantasy of Fish Festival<\/strong><\/em>, organized by the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Sutivan, Brac island<\/a>, as part of the project “Fantasy of Fish – Promotion of Fisheries and Fish Products<\/strong>“, starts on Tuesday, September 7<\/strong>. The festival will open with a screening of the film Between Heaven and Earth<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The festival lasts 4 days <\/strong>and will be held at three locations <\/strong>– in the summer cinema Sutivan, the atrium of Kavanjin’s court and on the Sutivan waterfront, starting at 08:30 pm.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The first evening is reserved for the screening of the film Between Heaven and Earth, in which 82-year-old glaciologist Claude Lorius <\/strong>reveals the secrets of the past by analyzing different ice levels. On the second evening, Wednesday, September 8, festival visitors will be able to peek into the traditional life of fishermen, through a stage presentation of Puli\u0161eli\u0107’s Quarrel, in Kavanjin’s Palace, after which they will be inspired by poetry by Josipa Luk\u0161i\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Thursday is reserved for Pjat o’srdele<\/em> (Plate of sardines) and a short course on mending a fishing net. The whole festival ends on Friday, with a tasting of black risotto <\/strong>with the performance of the band Koperonti<\/strong>, during which visitors can learn about Purati\u0107’s invention, traditional fishing tools and the queen of the sea – sardine.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
