The construction of a new ferry port in Kaprije<\/a> will enable the use of bigger ferries, more stable and more resistant to weather conditions, which will significantly reduce the number of cancelled lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The construction of a ferry port outside the town centre will ensure easier manoeuvring and docking of ferries<\/strong>. It will also reduce traffic congestion in the area of the port and the town centre. At the same time, the noise level in the centre of the town will be reduced and the quiet pedestrian zone within which there are beaches, catering facilities, cultural and other facilities will be maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the completion of works on the underwater part of the structure, eighteen pilots who will carry the pier began preparations for the installation of prefabricated reinforced concrete elements of the new ferry pier on the island of Kaprije. On the prepared piles, head beams – headboards were placed. Reinforced concrete prefabricated elements will be laid on them, which will form the pier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The elements are currently being manufactured in a separate plant in \u0160ibenik, and after construction, they are transported to the construction site and prepared for installation. The final works of the underwater excavation are in progress, which is preparation for installation for reinforced concrete structures of the coastal walls and the future pier ramp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completion of the contracted works is expected by the end of January 2022<\/strong>. The project “Construction of a ferry port in the port of Kaprije” was co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund<\/strong>. It is implemented by the Port Authority of \u0160ibenik-Knin County. The total value of the project is HRK 24,072,345.21. The total duration of the project is 42 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sali on Dugi Otok left without the use of its port for 3 years<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

People from Sali<\/a> on Dugi Otok<\/a> remain without the use of their port for more than three years. Namely, the works on the new breakwater will take at least that long, and inhabitants of Sali will have to travel to Zaglav<\/a>, where a bus will be waiting for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How will the residents of Dugi Otok be able to travel to their places, primarily Sali, when the works on the construction of the port begin? How will these residents be connected to the mainland and all the places they need to go? These questions were asked by the member of the Zadar County Assembly Nevenka Marinovi\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zadar County Prefect Bo\u017eidar Longin <\/strong>said that EU funds amount to 85% and that 15% of the works are paid for by the Ministry of the Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
