{"id":7645,"date":"2021-12-26T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-12-26T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/?p=7645"},"modified":"2022-12-03T07:03:42","modified_gmt":"2022-12-03T06:03:42","slug":"the-mapping-of-the-energetic-potential-of-island-korcula-project-is-completed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/the-mapping-of-the-energetic-potential-of-island-korcula-project-is-completed\/","title":{"rendered":"The \u201cMapping of the Energetic Potential of Island Kor\u010dula\u201d project is completed"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>In April 2021, the US Embassy in Croatia approved funding for the <strong>Island Movement<\/strong>&#8216;s project <strong>&#8220;Exploiting the Energy Potentials of Croatian Islands&#8221;<\/strong> with the purpose of research into the energy potentials of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrycroatia.com\/en\/island-korcula\/\"><strong>island Kor\u010dula<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Funds were obtained from the US Embassy&#8217;s call for small loans called &#8220;Energizing the Balkans&#8221;.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Island Movement focused on Korcula. This island was chosen because the Association has already started the mapping phase with the involvement of volunteers in order to apply for the competition.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Grant funding enabled the employment of expert Mislav \u0160kacan as project manager for the survey questionnaire and analysis of the situation and additional engagement of volunteer Dubravka Jeri\u010devi\u0107. She was responsible for dissemination of survey questionnaires and volunteer Andrea Beader was in charge of the dissemination of questionnaires through portals and social networks.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Expert support\u00a0was provided by the Movement&#8217;s volunteers Andreja Baraba, Maja Juri\u0161i\u0107 and Ivan Zokovi\u0107.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A total of 123 participants completed the questionnaire and are currently living or working on Kor\u010dula.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Of the <strong>total number of participants,<\/strong> 60 (48.80%) were men and 63 (51.2%) were women. Most of the participants are between 31 and 60 years old (respectively: 29.3% of them from 31 to 40, 24.4% of them from 41 to 50 and 20.3% from 51 to 60; a total of 74% of participants). There were no participants in the under-20 age group, and only two participants were over 71 years old.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The key findings were:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>123 participants; equal number F and M<\/li>\r\n<li>most participants are between 31 and 60 years old<\/li>\r\n<li>most are highly educated people<\/li>\r\n<li>most are employed or self-employed<\/li>\r\n<li>mostly natural persons<\/li>\r\n<li>most participants are working in micro companies<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In general, most participants want to invest with their own financial assets in projects, but forty percent of them still can\u2019t decide whether to invest.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>According to the participants, they need:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>More knowledge of energetics<\/li>\r\n<li>More knowledge of projects<\/li>\r\n<li>Financial assistance<\/li>\r\n<li>Project management assistance<\/li>\r\n<li>Associating with other participants\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2><strong>50% of participants plan to install solar panels soon<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Half of participants don\u2019t have installed solar panels on their houses but half of them plan on installing them.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>However, most participants don\u2019t know anything about the ESCO model but almost half of them want to find out more information about it.<br \/><br \/>Most participants own an edifice without access to the electromagnetic network, but half of them plan on connecting to the network, while 70% of them plan on creating their own network with energy storage.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Regarding waste management, most participants have the option of waste sorting where they live, but 40% of them are not happy with the current waste management system.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.otoci.eu\/korcula-proveden-projekt-mapiranje-energetskih-potencijala-otoka-korcule\/\">otoci.eu<\/a><\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In April 2021, the US Embassy in Croatia approved funding for the Island Movement&#8216;s project &#8220;Exploiting the Energy Potentials of Croatian Islands&#8221; with the purpose of research into the energy potentials of island Kor\u010dula.
