We already knew that Korcula is the most beautiful, and now it is official. Korcula has been declared the fifth most beautiful island in the world!<\/span><\/p>\n

It was announced by readers and editors of the Big 7 travel site, who chose from 50 world islands. There were no other islands from Croatia, but there were Seychelles, Bora Bora, Barbados, Maldives, wonders from Hawaii and the Caribbean, and islands from Zanzibar, but our Korcula overshadowed all these places.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the Croatian map, the sixth largest island, and on the world map, the fifth most desirable. This is Korcula. An island whose silence leaves you breathless.<\/span><\/p>\n

Margaret from Ireland says: \u201cWhat do I think about Korcula? If you are for living in the moment and meditating, and you have to imagine a happy place, this is it. There is no price to pay. And don’t sell it.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Evelyn from France also has only praise for Korcula: \u201cIt is very quiet and people are very kind. Wherever we go, we meet very dear people, so I think we will come back again. \u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The old town of Korcula is unavoidable for visitors, and it is remembered for its architecture reminiscent of herringbone.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Another specificity is that the side streets are curved so that the winter wind cannot enter the old town while on the left they are flat so that the summer mistral refreshes us every day – Andrea Tedeschi, a tourist guide, reveals for RTL.<\/span><\/p>\n

Those who built Korcula were smart, and now it has a number of restaurants.<\/span><\/p>\n

– The gastronomic life of the whole of Korcula is fantastic.<\/a> I think that you rarely have so many different gastronomic offers on one island in Croatia, and maybe even in Europe. So – do you want a Michelin restaurant or certain taverns or maybe some modern street food restaurants or bars – says Ante Boji\u0107, owner of the oldest tavern on Kor\u010dula.<\/span><\/p>\n

Domestic and autochthonous, Smiljana has been selling for 28 years and says she has a recipe for returning guests. – You just need to work on quality, those who are not guided by quality can close immediately – says Smiljana Matijaca, owner of the indigenous Korcula desserts store.<\/span><\/p>\n

– In the heart of the season when everything is overcrowded, one Split, one Dubrovnik or Hvar, Bra\u010d, it’s all crowded, crowded with guests, and in Korcula you can still find, or feel the peace and tranquility for which they cry – says Irena Kastela, owner of a coral shop.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hana Turudi\u0107, director of the Tourist Board of the City of Kor\u010dula, says: “We love our island, we protect it very much with the hospitality of the population, and on the whole island and the town of Kor\u010dula there is something for every guest that he will like.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Hidden bays are real gems of the island of Korcula, as is the beach which, in addition to sun, sea and silence, also offers a view of the island of Lastovo<\/a> and thus reached the list of most sought after beaches in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Giovanni Adizzione says: \u201cWe heard about Pupnat and Pupnat soup long about, and Pupnatska Luka is a famous beach so we were drawn to it. This beach is great, the sea is clean, and beautiful. We enjoyed it – I’m enjoying the sea right now and it’s warm. I recommend all people to come to Korcula. “<\/span><\/p>\n

The new title could bring Korcula many guests.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marija Klisura, Mayor of Lumbarda, says: \u201cWe mustn’t be afraid of tourists. We need to work on raising the quality of the tourist product, on raising the quality of tourist accommodation, not the quantity. \u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Nature has done its thing, and now it is up to the hosts to keep the island as it is – the most desirable.<\/span><\/p>\n
