SU\u0106URAJ \u2013 An external port in Su\u0107uraj on Hvar island<\/a>, worth more than HRK 35 million, is officially opened. From now on, ferries with a larger vehicle capacity will be able to dock in the new port, so it is expected that there will no longer be endless lines of vehicles waiting to board in <\/span>Su\u0107uraj and Drvenik.<\/b><\/p>\n

Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovi\u0107<\/b> was also present at the opening, saying that this project is a renaissance on the Croatian coast, a renaissance of investment in Croatian infrastructure, but also investment in the islands as part of balanced regional development.<\/span><\/p>\n

– We want this to enable all islanders to have a better quality of life and mobility, and for this season’s income to grow and for tourism to make a big contribution to GDP growth – Plenkovi\u0107 said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the tunnel through Biokovo was built, Hvar can now be “reached in an hour”, boasted the <\/span>Port Authority of Split-Dalmatia County.<\/b><\/p>\n

– As if the Drvenik – Su\u0107uraj bridge was built in the east of Hvar. It is much faster and less crowded than via Split. And at the same time cheaper – they describe on the website of the County Port Authority.<\/span><\/p>\n

The outer berth was supposed to be opened before the start of this year’s tourist season, at least that’s what they announced in the fall of last year. And yet the port is open well into the season. But better late than never.<\/span><\/p>\n
