Transformation of the Baterija fortress into a tourist attraction through digital technologies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The transformation of a local landmarks such as the “Battery” Fort through digital technologies into a tourist attraction that can be explored in a virtual environment, with no impact on the environment, while promoting the local maritime heritage, known for its shipbuilding and fishing traditions, opens a completely new chapter in the interpretation of all that Milna and the island of Bra\u010d<\/a> have to offer – reports morski.hr<\/a><\/p>\n

Digital transformation of the Baterija fortress<\/strong>
\nAt the Competition for financing projects in the field of development, protection and valorization of maritime heritage, the project “Digital transformation of the Baterija fortress”, by research and consultancy firm Drugi Otok<\/strong> from Split in cooperation with TZ Milna<\/strong>, was accepted and evaluated positively.<\/p>\n

Namely, the Battery is located on Cape Zaglav and is one of the dislocated parts of the future Maritime Center, which aims to interpret the rich maritime heritage of Milna, based on fishing and traditional shipbuilding. As the fort is located on the territory of the Municipality of Milna (property of the Republic of Croatia), the wish of all those involved in the project is to explore this fort in more detail, valorize it and thus promote the maritime heritage, for which TZ Milna already has a project prepared.<\/p>\n

Currently, scientific research on the “Battery” is carried out by our distinguished scientist and former director of the Split Conservation Institute – Ph.D. Josip Belamari\u0107<\/strong>. The project of the Split-Dalmatia County “Pomorsko je dobro”<\/strong> (‘The sea is good’)outlines a path towards the promotion, protection and revitalization of maritime heritage, of which Baterija is one of the most representative in this part of the Adriatic, it is determined and found in the focus section on the project’s website.<\/p>\n

Therefore, this project “Digital transformation of the Baterija fortress”<\/strong> best corresponds to the goals of the project “The sea is good”, because the digital transformation of this cultural asset of immeasurable importance opens up opportunities not only for deeper research, but also for revitalization and possibly reconstruction. The goal of the project is to record this largest fort on Bra\u010d with a drone for the purposes of photogrammetric 3D restitution, and to create a functional 3D model.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
