Baska Krk Island

Krk Island – Baska Outdoor Festival taking place 25-27 September

At this year’s sixth edition of Baska Outdoor Festival, competitors will participate in four different categories: trail running, mountain biking, hiking and zipline. In 2019, the festival won an annual award for the best outdoor event, given by Croatian magazine “People Outdoors”, something like Oscars for Outdoor activities. Baska Outdoor also confirmed its status as the most visited non-seasonal event on Krk Island, with numerous competitors enjoying outdoor activities in Baska.

Many sports and adrenaline lovers emphasize the importance of Baska Outdoor festival, as a manifestation which promotes healthy lifestyle. The organizers, along with their associates, have worked hard to host the event with all prescribed epidemiological measures. That’s why festival programs will be somewhat different than in previous years, as safety of participants is a number one priority. Festival lasts for 3 days, and is organized by the Baska Tourist Board, in partnership with Valamar and other sports events organizers. Thanks to the natural beauty of Baska, which is an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts, everyone should find something for themselves in these 3 days.

The program kicks off on Friday 25th September, with Zipline Edison, where participants will test driving an off-road vehicle, walk in nature and take a 2 kilometer zipline. On Saturday 26th September, there are several challenges available. The biggest challenge is Adria Bike, organized by Krk’n’Roll MTB. It’s a 2-path marathon, where one is 32 kilometers long and the other 63 kilometers. Trekking lovers will enjoy a competition held by Krk Island Trail 2020, with 3 categories available: 8 km, 14 km and 24 km. On Sunday, a field trip Baska Hike Tour will take place. On that occasion, Promotiv Travel Outdoor will take participants on path Baska – Heritage Hotel Forza – Zarok – ispod velikog Gradeca – Prijevoj Vraca – Rt Skuljica – Bag – Pješčara Zarok – Baska. Visitors will get a chance to explore Baska and surrounding areas.

A unique outdoor map and a brochure will be given to participants, as are 2 new mobile apps to make navigation easier. All the participants can use discounts at several accommodation units and camp sites located in Baska.
