With Bol on Island Brac being one of the popular island locations in the Adriatic, it is no wonder that the Split to Bol ferry connection is very popular. The price difference is due to the different carriers. The Jadrolinija route 9603 is a partly-financed state line, operating the whole year. Krilo is not a private company with its own price list.
There is an option of taking a bus from Split to Bol. The bus drives with the ferry from Split to Supetar, so as a bus passenger, you should not worry about ferry tickets. Alternatively, there is also the option to hire a fast boat taxi, but that is quite expensive.
