Renovation and reconstruction projects in Hvar and Preko

Works on the renovation of maritime buildings in the area of the city port in Hvar will begin. They will include the renovation of the coast of Fabrika, part of the coast of the waterfront in front of the Arsenal building, pier in front of Veneranda and pier in front of the Franciscan monastery (mullet in Križ) and retaining wall.

Renovation of the historic part of the port of Hvar is an extremely demanding construction project that will be carried out in stages over the next two and a half months. That especially refers to the coast of Fabrika from the 16th century, one of the oldest preserved coasts from the time of the Republic of Venice, and the coast in front of the Arsenal.

The total estimated value of the works is HRK 656,568.75, the investor is the Port Authority of the Split-Dalmatia County, and the contractor is Kain Građenje d.o.o. from Metković.

For the “Development of the beach Jugo in Preko – rehabilitation of maritime property” the Municipality of Preko has approved HRK 400,000 for the first phase of the project, whose purpose is the rehabilitation of maritime property with the aim of increasing the safety of persons on the maritime property in general use and better management and sustainable use of natural heritage.

One million kuna has been approved for the Zadar County Port Authority for the project “Rehabilitation and reconstruction of the coastal wall and the western pier of the port of Čeprljanda on the island of Ugljan“.

Also, HRK 400,000 was approved for the project “Rehabilitation of the Foša coast in Zadar“, which is extremely important due to the docking of the ship in Preko for emergency medical care for the islands of Ugljan and Pašman, which is currently unable to dock due to damage to the waterfront in Foša.

As mayor Jure Brižić states, these projects will significantly contribute to the improvement of coastal and port infrastructure and affect the development of the island, especially in terms of tourism, and will raise the quality of life of all residents of the municipality.
