Renovation of the port of Porat

The Krk County Port Authority said that the works on the reconstruction of the port of Porat are progressing according to plan and that the entire reconstruction should be completed by mid-February next year.

The first phase of the reconstruction of the port is underway, in the first used unit, which includes the renovation of the existing breakwater, as part of which a new coastal wall in the length of 77 meters will be constructed. The main energy line for the needs of supplying boats with water and electricity will be constructed and the pipeline of the hydrant network for fire protection.

The goal, they remind, is to increase the number of berths, but also to better protect the port area from winds and waves. The public procurement and the main project include the first phase, which consists of two operational units.

So far, they say, most of the underwater coastal concrete structure, ie the coastal wall under the sea, has been constructed.

The works began with the introduction of the contractor on September 15, 2021, and the deadline for completion is 5 months, i.e. until February 15, 2022, provided that there are no unforeseen circumstances that could affect the justified extension of works, according to Krk Port Authority.
