Dawn on Krk island

On Krk, the campsites are full even at the beginning of November

KRK – Sunny weather and unprecedented high temperatures at the beginning of November were used by numerous visitors to the island of Krk, most of whom were in motorhomes. The year-round Ježevac camp recorded 1,800 guests for the first time at the beginning of November.

Many guests of Kvarner do not remember this kind of vacation in November. Temperatures up to 26 degrees, the sea around 22, and an opportunity to enjoy everything summer offers.

– This year is incredible, we are swimming, the sea is great, the temperatures are excellent, 20 degrees all day, to relax and recharge the batteries. It couldn’t be better, we are delighted – says Sanja, a guest from Slovenia, for HRT.

This family of five from Hungary took advantage of all the benefits of summer temperatures.

– Perfect weather, we are amazed because we were expecting nice weather, but not this warm at the beginning of November, really unexpected and crazy – says David, a guest from Hungary.

Motorhomes are increasingly popular for summer vacations, especially for families with children, but this type of occupancy in the winter period is unprecedented.

– The camp is good, but the weather this year is really good. We swam, rode bikes and it was great for us – said Uroš, a guest from Slovenia.

Thanks to the unusually warm weather, there were plenty of opportunities to enjoy, even for the youngest.

– An unprecedented number of guests this weekend. We reached the figure of 1800 guests in the camp, which is almost full capacity. The weather also played a big role. We have prepared a rich program for children in view of Halloween – reveals Ivona Tomee, head of the animation team of Ježevac autocamp, Krk.

By the end of the week, about a thousand guests, mainly from Slovenia and Germany, will stay in this Krk camp.

– During the last weekend of October, two and a half thousand guests stayed in the city of Krk, who achieved 7.5 thousand overnight stays, which is the best result so far. Most of the guests, about 60 percent, are from the Slovenian market, followed by guests from Germany and Austria – says Ivana Kovačić, director of the TZ of the City of Krk.

If it continues to be so warm and sunny, this year could break previous tourist records.
