Pasman island

The ferry port in Tkon completed soon, reconstruction of port of Sali on hold

By the start of the tourist season, a new ferry port in Tkon should be operational. Unlike the inhabitants of Pašman island, the people of Dugi Otok are still waiting for the beginning of the announced works on the modernization of the port in Sali.

Director of the County Port Authority Davor Škibola estimates that an HRK 32 million project on Pašman is coming to an end.

In Tkon, about 100 meters west of the existing port, 2 piers have been built with boarding houses, parking and accompanying facilities, reports Radio Zadar.

Škibola says that part is in the final phase, it is being asphalted, lighting is being installed, Croatian roads still need to make a connection from the state road 110. He expects that there should be an opening in Tkon in a few months, before the tourist season.

The evasion of the pier will relieve the centre of the town and raise the functioning of traffic on the route Biograd – Tkon to a higher level.

The construction of a breakwater in the port of Sali has a similar goal, a project that should have been realized so that the tender for the contractor was not cancelled in October last year because the two bids received were 60% higher than the planned 40 and a half million kuna that was provided for his project.

The director Škibola states that these are funds from the envelope of the EU fund 2014-2021, which has been closed.
