Jadrolinija postpones the line Zadar – Ancona

Last week, Jadrolinija reported on its website that the start of sailing, scheduled for July 21 on the international line Zadar – Ancona, has been postponed to August 2, 2021. Passengers with a purchased ticket for cancelled trips will be refunded, according to the state shipping company, despite being cancelled only ten hours before the ferry was supposed to leave for Italy. A few days ago, they could not answer 057info.hr’s question of whether the line would be cancelled.

The first date on which the line for Ancona was announced was on July 5, when the problem was the same as now – there was not enough interest to maintain this line. The Ministry has repeatedly promised even a year-round line with Ancona, but it is not sustainable even in the tourist season. Last year, the ferry line was eventually abandoned, and a catamaran was introduced instead. Whether this will be the case this year as well, passengers will probably know in the evening hours of August 1st.

According to the latest sailing schedule, the Zadar ferry departs for the first time towards Ancona on Monday, August 2, at 10:00 pm, arriving in Italy at 7:00 am. Even in the updated timetable, it is not yet possible to buy a ticket and the page states that due to the coronavirus epidemic, the timetable is subject to change.

Anyway, car transport costs 600 kuna and each additional passenger 360 kuna (on deck). By August 30, the ferry should sail 4-5 times a week.
