Dawn on Krk island

Krk island presented its new outdoor tourism brand and logo

The Tourist Board of island Krk has, along with other local tourist boards and self-government units, created a new brand and PR strategy for its outdoor tourist offer.

The “Brand and PR Strategy of Krk Island’s Outdoor Tourist Offer”, as it’s officially named, was financed by the local government, Krk’s tourist boards, and the Ministry of tourism and sport.

The strategy was co-created with Studio Conex d.o.o., a Samobor agency. It was presented to directors of tourist boards and the Tourist Council of Krk’s Tourist Board back in September and was accepted unanimously.

In addition to local self-government units and the tourist community, a large number of external associates and partners with whom the Island Tourist Board cooperates were involved in the development of the strategy.

The document handles the detailed analysis of the current state of Krk’s outdoor tourist offer and after that, the strategic characteristics of Krk island’s outdoor brand and its goal – to build a competitive brand identity and a recognizable outdoor tourist offer.

The solutions are diversification of tourist products and the development of new ones aligned with interests of Krk’s guests, as well as with trends in tourism, which are mostly focused on eco-friendly solutions. This kind of tourism is perfect for Krk since it’s a highly developed and eco-sustainable island.

The brand and PR strategy encompass a range of activities including the creation of a database, social media management strategy, website design, the production of promotional materials, advertising and fair management, to name a few.

Also, a new logo for the outdoor offer was also introduced. After 15 years of using the old logo, the new one is much more aligned with the times and design trends, also – it’s more recognizable.

The green, yellow and blue logo, shaped like Krk island, was made by graphic designer Valter Stojšić.

The logo’s use as well as the start of the new branding and PR strategy is slated for the beginning of 2022
